This painting took a lot of thought and consideration; it was originally supposed to be on wood, but to achieve the wired accents, I decided to go with canvas. Choosing the facial features on each woman was a process as well. On the left there are no eyes as she “sees no evil", and on the right there is no mouth because she “speaks no evil”. Each woman does, however, have ears, visible or not, because as black womxn in America we hear evil but choose not to speak evil or see it through a destructive lens.
